The Pry House Field Hospital Museum will have special programming the weekend of September 14 – 15 in honor of the 157th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam.

Throughout the weekend on September 14 – 15 visitors to the Pry House will have the opportunity to explore a replica Civil War-era ambulance, a Gulf War-era ambulance, and a modern ambulance equipped with life-saving equipment. Have all three ambulances in one place represents a unique opportunity to see how emergency medical care has changed throughout American history.

At 3:00 PM on September 14 and 15, staff from the NMCWM and personnel from Shepherdstown Fire Department and Sharpsburg Area Emergency Medical Services will give a special presentation on the history of emergency care during the Civil War under the Letterman Plan and modern EMS practices. It will be a pay-what-you-please presentation.
