Taste history with “USS Constellation Rum,” and other Navy inspired spirits from Tobacco Barn Distillery at this exclusive NMCWM after hours program.
On Saturday January 18, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine come and enjoy a special after hours tasting of Navy spirits. Attendees will have the chance to taste history with “USS Constellation Rum,” a distilled spirit stored in oak barrels aboard the storied nineteenth century warship of the same name. Scott Sanders of Tobacco Barn Distillery will serve tastings of the rare liquor (the only distilled spirit in the world aged on board a ship) and other Navy inspired spirts at the NMCWM, amidst reproduction uniforms and weapons of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
During this exclusive after-hours event, you will meet Marines and commemorate the momentous Battle of Fort Fisher. Tastings of different Navy inspired spirits will be linked with a presentation about their history. Hear the story of the marines and sailors who served in the Civil War, and learn about the place of rum and spirit rations in American naval history. Tickets are required to attend this event. Tickets are $20 for NMCWM members and $25 for general public.
