Hear about the extraordinary experience of Union General Meade’s Division at the Battle of Antietam.
This event has been postponed, and will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined.
At the Pry House Field Hospital Museum on a date to be determined, Antietam Battlefield Guide Joseph W. Stahl will discuss the role played by Union General George Meade’s Division at the Battle of Antietam.
Brigadier General George Meade’s Pennsylvania Reserve division were among the first units engaged at the Battle of Antietam. Meade’s men were heavily involved in fighting in and around the infamous Cornfield, and suffered heavy casualties as a result. Joseph Stahl will discuss several of the individual soldiers involved in the fighting, their movements on the battlefield, and what they experienced on America’s bloodiest day. Don’t miss the chance to hear about Meade’s Division just a few miles from where they fought.
The presentation begins in the Pry Barn at 2:00 PM and is a pay-what-you-please event. There is a $3.00 suggested donation to tour the Pry House Field Hospital Museum. Members access events and tours for FREE. The Pry House is open from 11 AM to 5 PM Friday through Sunday.
