POSTPONED – On a date and time TBD at the Pry House Field Hospital Museum, Antietam Battlefield Guide Jim Rosebrock will discuss Union and Confederate artillery leaders at the Battle of Antietam.

Antietam is often referred to as “Artillery Hell.” Nearly 500 artillery pieces fired around 50,000 rounds of artillery in the space of 12 hours during the Battle. The power these cannons unleashed upon enemy soldiers and the landscape around them was an astonishing sight to behold. Learn about several of the Union and Confederate artillery battery commanders and the decisive role they played shaping the outcome of America’s bloodiest day.

The presentation begins in the Pry Barn at 2:00 PM and is a pay-what-you-please event. There is a $3.00 suggested donation to tour the Pry House Field Hospital Museum. Members access events and tours for FREE. The Pry House is open from 11 AM to 5 PM Friday through Sunday.

Jim Rosebrock is a certified battlefield guide and volunteer at Antietam National Battlefield. Jim is a retired army officer and is currently working on a book that discusses the role of the regular army artillery batteries at the Battle of Antietam.
