COVID-19 and closures won’t stop us from sharing the incredible lessons we can learn from studying medical care during the Civil War!
On Friday June 26, join us at 1:00 PM for a Facebook Live conversation with Membership and Development Coordinator Kyle Dalton and the Tattooed Historian, John Heckman about combat care during the Civil War. You can tune in live by visiting facebook.com/civilwarmed/live at the scheduled time.
Coming to you live from the Pry Field Hospital, this live stream will be engaging and thought-provoking when it comes to combat medicine during the Maryland Campaign and beyond. The Pry Hospital is an original field hospital located just east of Antietam Creek. Kyle will use authentic reproductions of Civil War medical equipment to create a narrative of the care of the wounded on the battlefield. We’ll go over many topics and myths surrounding this challenging work during the Civil War. Please consider joining us live from your home or workstation for this discussion.
John Heckman, also known as the Tattooed Historian, strongly believes in making history accessible for everyone regardless of background or education level. His array of digital programming covers all aspects of Civil War history and beyond.
