On Monday July 8, join us at 8:00 PM for a Facebook Live conversation with William Eichler of Civil War Digital Digest and historians Andrew Roscoe and James Taub on the Civil War Digital Digest Facebook Page. Director of Interpretation Jake Wynn will have a conversation with William Eichler, Andrew Roscoe, and James Taub about the evolution of battlefield medicine from the Civil War to World War I. The Civil War changed battlefield medicine forever. This conversation will talk about how it evolved during the war, and long afterwards. Send us your questions in advance on Facebook or by email (jake.wynn@civilwarmed.321staging.com) and tune in to the Museum’s Facebook page for what is sure to be a fascinating conversation. During this FREE program, you’ll hear about different aspects of healthcare on the front lines and in hospitals during the most destructive conflict in our nation’s history that continues impact us today. We are here to answer your questions about Civil War medical care!

William Eichler is a founding member of Civil War Digital Digest (CWDD). CWDD makes high quality videos about the American Civil War experience, on their YouTube channel, Facebook page, and website. These videos cover a range of topics from “how to” to in depth looks at original items to biographies of the lesser-known heroes of the conflict. They aim to entertain and educate armchair generals, teachers, and living historians alike.

James Taub is an American born, British educated military historian focused on developing further understanding of soldiers and the organizations they were a part of. He had the amazing opportunity of being an intern at Gettysburg National Military Park, the American Battlefield Trust, and worked at Fort Ticonderoga. He earned his BA in History from Dickinson College in 2015, and an MA in War Studies from the University of Glasgow in 2017.

Andrew J Roscoe is a military historian specializing in the American Civil War. Andrew serves as a Naval Aviator in the US Navy. He received his Bachelors from the University of Michigan and his Masters from Norwich University in Military History.
