COVID-19 and closures won’t stop us from sharing the incredible lessons we can learn from studying medical care during the Civil War!
Join us on Wednesday, December 9 at 1:00 PM on Facebook Live for a virtual program hosted by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. You can tune in live by visiting facebook.com/civilwarmed/live at the scheduled time.
Director of Interpretation Jake Wynn and Education Coordinator John Lustrea will highlight their favorite artifacts from the collection of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Most objects they will talk about are not on display, so this presentation is a rare opportunity to see and learn about items that shed light on specific aspects of Civil War medicine. From chess sets to surgical kits, John and Jake will explain why the objects they choose are so interesting, and what they can tell us about the past. You won’t want to miss this behind the scenes look into the Museum’s extensive collection.
