Harriet Tubman’s Journey to Freedom Statue Commemoration

The Harriet Tubman Journey to Freedom statue

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine is happy to co-promote a special Memorial Day Weekend event at Button Farm Living History Center in Germantown, Maryland. From Saturday, May 27 to Monday, May 29 from 10AM-3PM visitors can discover Harriet Tubman’s role in the Civil War and visit the Journey to Freedom statue. The NMCWM’s own Brad Stone will be on hand portraying a Civil War surgeon and speaking about Tubman’s role as a nurse.

Button Farm is partnering with the Menare Foundation, dedicated to preserving Underground Railroad history and historic sites.

Button Farm Living History Center is located at 16820 Black Rock Road, Germantown, MD 20874.
