26th Annual Conference on Civil War Medicine

Hear leading research on Civil War medicine from the top minds in the field
The Annual Conference on Civil War Medicine brings together scholars, practitioners, and amateur historians from across the globe to discuss the history of Civil War medicine and its enduring impact today.
Attendees will enjoy three days of presentations, tours, and demonstrations exploring the field of Civil War medicine. Activities include an exclusive tour of the historic Seminary Ridge Museum and a hands-on-history Gettysburg Battlefield Tour with Wayne Motts, Executive Director of the National Civil War Museum. Mr. Motts and Historian Dennis Frye will be sharing stories and bringing artifacts which are related to each individual stop. Bus transportation will be provided for both tours.
Presenters will include: Dr. Robert Hicks, Dr. Peter Carmichael, Paige Gibbons Backus, Melissa DeVelvis, Dr. Guy Hasegawa, Jake Wynn, Kevin Pawlak, Greg Susla, and Captain Frank K. Butler – Winner of the 10th Annual Jonathan Letterman Award
The conference will take place at the Gettysburg Hotel in historic Gettysburg, PA from Friday October 12th through Sunday October 14th.
