DeAnne Blanton retired as the senior military archivist at the National Archives, specializing in 19th century U.S. Army Records.

Lauren Cook Wike studied History of International Relations at American University and was special assistant to the chancellor for university communications at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She is the editor of An Uncommon Soldier: The Civil War Letters of Sarah Rosetta Wakeman, Alias Pvt. Lyons Wakeman.
