Witnessing Pickett’s Charge from a Field Hospital

Join us on Friday, July 3 at 8:00 PM on Facebook for a virtual program hosted by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine.
Director of Interpretation Jake Wynn will have a conversation with historian Codie Eash about wounded soldiers recovering in the Lutheran Seminary who witnessed Pickett’s Charge. Their conversation will cover the medical care given at the Seminary and what the experience was like for recovering soldiers there while the battle was ongoing. Codie Eash serves as Visitor Services Coordinator at Seminary Ridge Museum, Gettysburg, and is a 2014 graduate of Shippensburg University, where he earned a bachelor degree in communication/journalism and held a minor in history. He contributes to the blog “Pennsylvania in the Civil War”; serves as a co-host on “Battles and Banter,” a military history podcast; and maintains the Facebook page “Codie Eash – Writer and Historian,” which primarily focuses on the heritage and legacy of the Civil War era.
