Dreaming of warmer temperatures? Ready for spring? Join us for a presentation on Civil War medicinal gardening and learn from expert Greg Susla about the plants used during America’s bloodiest conflict.

During the Civil War, access to drugs and medicines became a serious issue for communities on both sides of the conflict. Instead of relying on official sources, civilians often relied on what they could scrounge or grow themselves.

On Saturday, March 3rd at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, Greg Susla will discuss his work on the newly re-established medicinal herb garden at the Pry House. He will note the medicinal applications of the various plants grown in the garden and their uses during the 19th century.
Admission for this event is included with admission to the Museum/FREE for NMCWM members.
