“Ghoulish and Ghastly: Civil War After Dark” will take visitors through the darkened galleries of the museum and examine the Civil War’s grizzly side on Friday, October 26th.

On this lantern-led tour of Frederick’s most haunted building, visitors will hear ghastly true tales from the Civil War – stories of dissection, experimental facial reconstructive surgery, parasites, and more. The National Museum of Civil War Medicine, at 48 E. Patrick Street in Downtown Frederick, is located in the Carty Building, a structure that hosted embalmers during the American Civil War and served as an undertaking business for more than a century.

Tours will take place at 7 PM and 8 PM. Click below to purchase tickets for your preferred tour. Tickets are $15 per person.
