Museum intern Michael Mahr reflects on his research for the Museum

Education Coordinator John Lustrea will talk with Museum intern Michael Mahr about his experience working at the Museum this summer and some of the research he did. From typhoid fever to field hospitals at Gettysburg to walking tours of Civil War Frederick and more, Michael’s research covers a vast swath of Civil War medicine.

Michael Mahr is a Senior at Gettysburg College from Dover, Massachusetts with a major in History and a minor in Public History, he is also considering adding a second minor in Peace and Justice studies. Michael is the Brian C. Pohanka intern at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine through the College’s Civil War Institute.
