The Bloodiest Day – After Hours at the Pry House

September 17, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm EDT

EveningPryHouse
The Pry House at Antietam National Battlefield

Discover the true story of the Pry House’s role on ‘America’s Bloodiest Day’

On the 154th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam, join NMCWM historian Jake Wynn at the Pry House for an after-hours tour of this historic house and property.

Utilizing primary sources, the tour will detail the experiences of those who were at the Pry House on September 17, 1862 amid the horrendous carnage of battle.

From the words of the commander, the medical director, the surgeon, and the private, this tour will focus on the events occurring on the Pry family’s land on that momentous day. This property-turned-headquarters was briefly home to the Union Army high command, its medical department, and a hospital treating hundreds of wounded soldiers. Hear the stories of those who were there and witnessed it all.

This is a “pay-what-you-please” program.
