“The Artillery and Brigades of Antietam” Speaker Series: Anderson’s Division

Historian and Author Brad Gottfried Will Discuss the Brigades of Richard Anderson’s Division

On Saturday August 5th at 2:00 PM at the Pry House Field Hospital Museum Barn, Historian and Brigades of Antietam contributor Brad Gottfried will present The Brigades of Richard Anderson’s Division during our “Artillery & Brigades of Antietam” speaker series sponsored by the Antietam Institute. Gottfried will discuss where the brigades fought, their commanders, what constituted the units, and how they performed in the campaign, including the casualties sustained.

The presentation begins in the Pry Barn at 2:00 PM and is a pay-what-you-please event. There is a $3.00 suggested donation to tour the Pry House Field Hospital Museum. Members access events and tours for FREE.

The Pry House is open from 11 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays, from June 3 through October 28. It is located at 18906 Shepherdstown Pike, Keedysville, MD 21756.

Brad Gottfried received his Ph.D. in Zoology and worked at seven colleges over a span of 40 years. He retired in 2017 as the President of the College of Southern Maryland. Brad became an Antietam Certified Battlefield Guide in 2019. He is the author of 18 books, including his most recent, the Maps of the Spotsylvania Through Cold Harbor Campaigns.
