COVID-19 and closures won’t stop us from sharing the incredible lessons we can learn from studying medical care during the Civil War!
Join us on Thursday, February 4 at 4:00 PM on YouTube for a virtual program in the Hope Through History series hosted by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and Tenth Ward Distilling Company. You can tune in live by visiting youtube.com/user/nmcwm at the scheduled time.
Director of Interpretation Jake Wynn and Education Coordinator John Lustrea will talk with Head Distiller Mark Vierthaler of Tenth Ward Distilling Company about how they continue to find hope through history. The conversation will highlight the upcoming release of their Civil War inspired spirit – Brinton’s Brandy. Mark will explain how it was made, their partnership with the Museum, and why history matters to Tenth Ward. The presentation will even include a virtual cocktail demonstration or two, so grab your favorite drink and enjoy this happy hour presentation of the Museum’s Hope Through History series.
Tenth Ward Distilling Company is proud to be woman-owned. They are located in what used to be the Tenth Ward of Frederick City. Specializing in a variety of year-round spirits, they take claim to producing Maryland’s first absinthe, and have a passion for developing small batch, one-time-only limited releases. Everything Tenth Ward make is non-traditional and unconventional, which is why they live fearlessly by their slogan – #wardoffordinary.
